Job Description
We are interviewing for a direct hire position for a Process Engineer for a manufacturer of rubber molded high-voltage electrical connectors for underground distribution systems in Albuquerque.
Qualified candidates will :
Develop, implement and/or maintain an effective process for manufacturing.
Utilize statistically valid methods and/or defect analysis to understand and expeditiously resolve product quality issues, determine, organize and communicate process control and product quality information in a timely manner to manufacturing, plant management, process engineers and product engineering teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for experimental, prototype, new and existing products
Develop and maintain SOPs for manufacturing operations
Develop and maintain parameter sheets and control plans
Coordinate activities to reduce production scrap
Provide troubleshooting assistance and technical training as needed for production
Participate as a member of a project team to develop new and improved products or processes
Review DMRs, determine root cause, recommend or implement corrective action and coordinate long-term resolution
Fill out work orders, purchase requisitions, CARs and material requisitions
Specify design and implementation for manufacturing equipment on new or existing products to ensure designs can be created in a safe and efficient manner
Assist product engineers and technicians in the testing of products
Provide product manufacturing processes for new product designs
Create/edit/maintain necessary documentation and assess the availability of raw materials, and the impact to safety and environment at the facilities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Mechanical or equivalent
5 years of manufacturing Experience (Rubber or Molding preferred)
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Suite
Project planning
SKILLS AND/OR TRAINING:
Fundamental applied Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge and process capability analysis
Mechanical design
Must be able to work well with others and Independently
Ability to read and understand various written instructions in English
Must be able to:
Bend, twist & turn in a safe manner
Lift up to 40 Pounds
Stand for long periods to analyze and repair machines
