Job Description
This entry level position, working under the direction of a senior engineers and project managers, is responsible for applying engineering skills, planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and technical writing to a variety of diverse and challenging projects in the area of facility operations support and project management.
Engineering support consists of civil, mechanical, electrical and structural designs of various engineering applications for facility-related operational systems.
The planning support consists of integrated research and development of documents to support mission oriented projects, developing scope of work documents for the projects, and creating project schedules.
Estimating support consists of providing cost estimates using RS Means for renovation and future construction projects.
The technical writing support consists of collecting, reviewing, editing, organizing, formatting, and indexing materials as part of technical reports.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives and involving conventional types of plans, specifications, and facility condition assessment analysis.
Perform design and facility condition assessment calculations for projects and review analysis calculations.
Prepare equipment or material specifications.
Prepare graphical representations of design and facility condition assessment data using AutoCAD and Adobe Professional.
Attend site visits and facility manager interview meetings as required.
Perform condition assessment survey (CAS) inspections.
Modify existing CAD floor plans showing the proposed new work and site locations.
Assist with design, pre-construction, construction and facility assessment inspections of multiple ongoing projects.
Researches, reviews, and verifies data for technical and editorial accuracy and consistency within standardized procedures and established written standards.
Selects and/or formats drawings, photographs, maps, diagrams, tables, and charts to illustrate material.
Interface with company personnel and specified client representatives in obtaining needed information and resolution of problems concerning submitted information.
Maintains records and files of work and revisions.
The successful candidate shall have completed a four year degree from an accredited college, or university in engineering or engineering technology or four years of equivalent engineering and project management experience.
