Job Summary:
Instruct students according to published curriculum and procedures to develop knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform in an entry-level position in the chosen career field. Treat all staff, faculty, and students with respect and foster a welcoming organization.
Essential Duties:
Support students' skills learning by involving them in learning activities.
Responsible for the timely and accurate entering of student attendance into database daily and input of students grades at least weekly.
Initiate tutor sessions with students utilizing a tutor request form when recognizing student support is necessary.
Provide feedback to program supervisor regarding student progress and/or comprehension of course content in classroom or in theory classes.
Ensures confidentiality of all student records and student information.
Prepare for and conduct daily lab and classroom sessions in appropriate time frame utilizing lecture, demonstration, and lab techniques.
Maintain and enforce policies and procedures.
Follow all safety and security procedures and notify the campus leadership of deficiency.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skill in subject specialty.
Motivate and encourage students to successfully complete their program.
Advise students regarding attendance, academic performance, and other policies described in the published Student Catalog, and document conversations with students through approved campus system.
Develop Student Support Plans to assist students in succeeding in their prospective programs.
Cooperate and communicate with the management and students of IntelliTec Colleges.
Participate in and document professional development programs designed to meet credential renewal requirements and improve training techniques.
Secondary Duties:
Maintain the security, condition, and cleanliness of all furniture and equipment assigned.
Attend all meetings and seminars as required.
Be responsible for making requests for materials such as books and products for replenishment in both the classroom and lab.
Work closely with IntelliTec staff to gain insight into student behavior helping their learning process.
Assist in developing goals for program improvement.
Attendance at the campus graduation ceremonies is highly encouraged.
Supervise and participate in occasional community events, allowing/encouraging student involvement in volunteer activities.
Flexibility to cover for another instructor with short notice in the classroom or on the clinic floor.
Ability to inventory product orders as received and stock in appropriate location.
Attend advisory committee meetings twice a year if available.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
The position requires medium work, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds while frequently lifting up to 20 pounds. Instruction requires standing for long periods of time (up to 5 hours at a time), expressing complex topics through speech, sufficient vision to write notes for instruction, and hearing to interact with students. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Working Hours:
Monday Thursday: 8:00am - 1:00pm or 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate Degree in Automotive Technology or a related field. Two additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a formal degree.
Experience: 3+ years (at least 4,000 hours) of experience maintaining or servicing motor vehicles in a shop and/or dealership or related experience; or 5+ years (at least 10,000 hours) of experience maintaining or servicing motor vehicles in a shop and/or dealership or related experience in lieu of a formal degree.
