JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is seeking an Enterprise Architect with strong system, software, or business architecture experience and technical leadership skills, with proven ability to drive technical and strategic direction, architect new systems and software applications, collaborate with a cross:discipline team of software engineers, management, customers, and end users to deliver innovative solutions, develop proposals for future business, and drive initiatives that improve the quality and user experience of our products. This position may require leading technical projects of varying size, managing cost, performance, and schedule in a fast:paced environment.
Primary Job Duties:
: Apply mathematics, computer science, and engineering practices and skills to information system problems
: Provide enterprise architecture expertise to translate an enterprise's strategy into a future enterprise architecture and a transition plan (i.e. roadmap) to achieve that future state.
: Research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or regulatory changes affecting policies or programs of various information system domains
: Use multi: disciplinary techniques, for example: business process decomposition and redesign, information engineering, organizational redesign, change management, IT strategy and architecture, and performance measurement, to assist in enterprise business transformation and EA implementation.
: Interact at a variety of points within the enterprise's governance process to assist in implementation of the transition plan, to include organizational strategy development, capital planning and investment control, portfolio and project management, systems development, and operations
: Provide analyses of potential changes to the EA
: Provide oversight for the development and maintenance of quality programs, systems, processes and procedures to ensure EA policy compliance or to improve the EA and to reduce future lifecycle costs
: Coordinate and collaborate with subject matter expert and other architects to reflect reengineered business processes into the EA
: Research, prototype, architect, and design solutions for effective operation of mission enabling or direct mission information systems
: Responsible for resolving issues that require architectural changes
: Identify risks and risk:reduction strategies as part of balancing performance, cost, and schedule for various technical options
: Report on progress and advances to peers, management, and stakeholders
: Participate in cross:system collaboration to define interfaces between systems
: Evaluate, test, and analyze implementation, functionality, performance, and tools of information system solutions, including COTS, GOTS and open source products, ensuring that requirements and acceptance criteria are met
: Integrate strategic and creative thinking with experience into the formulation of information system solutions and capabilities
: Advance solution space by resolving complex, difficult, or unique information system issues using creative, effective, and possibly leading edge solutions
: Research solutions for problems that span multiple domains such as information assurance, hardware, software development, systems programming, data management, database development, systems security, networking, and telecommunications
: Define, develop, and provide expertise and guidance on EA processes, policies, roles and responsibilities
: Integrate strategic thinking into the formulation of solutions and capabilities to ensure that long: term objectives and impacts are factored into the design process
: Recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues
Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or in a relevant discipline and fourteen (14) years or more
