Job Description:  District Sales Manager East Coast   Locations:  This person should be based near a major metropolitan airport.  The territory encompasses Central USA.            Objective:   The DSM will be responsible for continuing to grow volume profitability within the territory by providing the highest customer perceived quality, technical support and services in the sales of yeast and bakery ingredients.  The role will be accountable for meeting performance standards in sales, expense and asset control, customer satisfaction, market intelligence, professional skills enhancement and new product sales. Responsibilities: Vertical Growth - Deepen existing customer relationships to fill existing availability voids and introduce new products. Horizontal Growth - Expand customer base through new business prospecting. Financial Management - Forecast sales on a regular basis and develop and achieve Earnings Before Income Tax EBIT budgets.  Ensure pricing requests and terms and conditions procedures are in line prior to customer confirmation.  Develop and achieve sales expense budgets, monitor and recommend distribution efficiencies, and meet annual established customer Day Sales Outstanding DSO targets.  Liaise with A/R department to reduce/minimize past due accounts.  Reporting - Prepare and complete pre-call plans and contact reports.  Complete customer contact reports for key customers.  Complete share of market reports, and accurately inform VP Sales & Business Development of share of market changes.  Complete Competitive Activity Reports. Continued Education - Obtain and enhance sales training annually in product knowledge, selling skills, personnel management, computer skills or regulatory compliance.  Requirements:     We are seeking candidates with a combination of the following skills and knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree in food science desired or related discipline, five years of professional experience in the industrial/wholesale food industry, five years experience in food sales - preferably in bakery, technical or other related food products - strong oral and written communication skills, strong PC, word processing and spreadsheet skills, excellent planning, organization and problem solving skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a customer focused environment, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle with a safe driving record.  Bilingual oral and written communication skills and operation experience in a recognized bakery a plus. Frequent travel, up to , is required across a large geographical area. Must live close to a major airport.   Salaried position, bonus, with full benefits.
