WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? The purpose of the Outside Claim Representative position provides mobile, on-site service to policy holders in response to notice of loss. Service includes prompt contact, inspection of damages, investigation, scoping and estimating damages, settlement of claim, and issuing payment. The successful candidate needs to be customer focused, excellent with face to face customer interaction and adept at time management. Responsibilities: * Perform on-site inspection and estimation of damages. * Document all claim activity to support the outcome of the claim file. * Comply with all internal and external reporting requirements. * Create high level of policyholder satisfaction by complying with standards for timeliness of contact, follow-up, payments, and Unfair Claim Practice Act. * Perform other related job duties as directed or needed, such as providing on-call duty and immediate response and service in emergency and catastrophe situations. * Ability to write building damage estimates using computerized software applications required, with familiarity with XACT/Sketch estimating platform a plus. * You must live within the greater Albuquerque, NM area. The territory of responsibility will include the Albuquerque metro area, as well as cities/towns within two hours drive of your home. * Targeted monthly tasks are 55-60 new tasks per month. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR? The Outside Claim Representative will work from home in the designated territory. The role comes with a laptop computer, digital camera, & a company car equipped with a GPS unit, so a clean driving record is required. * 1 years of first party commercial & residential and property (structures) claim estimating preferred. * Will consider candidates with: * Recent experience in a customer facing role for at least a year * College graduate looking for a career in the insurance field * Prior construction, or experience in other areas of insurance, i.e. Auto, General Liability * Demonstrated high level of performance in current or past roles. * Experience writing structural damage estimates using computerized software applications helpful, preferably Xactimate. * Proficiency in construction estimating and repair techniques * Strong customer service orientation * Strong time management skills * Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, preferred. * Excellent planning and organizational skills * Ability to work independently * Valid driver's license and clear driving record * Computer literacy and strong keyboard skills * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to be available for catastrophe (CAT) deployment, oftentimes on short or limited notice, as a condition of employment. * Lifting requirement of 40-50 pounds and ability to climb up on roofs to inspect damage.
